On the occasion of the inauguration of the Tabriz International Rug Festival, Iran's President Hassan Rouhani presented the world's largest hand-made carpet.

According to local media, 70 different colors were used for 600 square meters of carpets weighing three tons. Carpet manufacturers said it took them six years to complete the carpet.

The carpet was presented for the August 4th fair at the current festival in Tabriz, capital of Azarbaijan province, in northwestern Iran.
